Echoes of Art

Association of deaf and hard of hearing Nova Gradiška is starting to implement another project under Erasmus+ Programme framework. The project was approved by Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes, which is responsible for implementing this program in Croatia.

The project is a KA 1 Learning mobility of individuals Youth Exchange under the title „Echoes of Art“ and its implementation starts in January this year. The project will last until July 2017.

The project was developed in partnership between several European organizations, namely: Baltic Regional fund from Latvia, Javni zavod za mlade Ruše from Slovenia, Backslash from Spain, Aktif Genclik ve Spor Kulubu Dernegi from Turkey, Asociata D.G.T from Romania and AKTO from Portugal.

The project aims towards ensuring inclusive participation of all youngsters within our communities, regardless of the obstacles they encounter, through intercultural exchange and dialogue, and it will gather 44 participants.

During this exchange youngsters will gain the knowledge on how to express themselves and articulate their view points through photography. Participants will work together to create their own photos on the themes of discrimination, acceptance of diversity, refugees and the everyday difficulties faced by persons with disabilities.

Using the methodology of participatory photography as an effective tool for youth engagement, development of skills and social innovation we will provide an opportunity to all individuals in the group to tell their own stories, and share their personal viewpoints.

This will surely affect their visual awareness, social change, the development of creativity, critical thinking and personal growth. With an exhibition that will be organized during the project we’ll reach local community, thereby impact positive social change in the attitude towards different and diverse.

Ultimately, the promotion of the project through social networks and organization of exhibitions in seven countries will contribute to raising awareness of negative behaviors in the communities involved with a focus on the intolerant behavior towards differences.

We believe that the project will contribute to a more connected and inclusive Europe.
